Maccabi qualifies to the semifinals

The quarter final of the Israeli State Cup encountered between Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Afula at Sammy Ofer stadium. Awad scored twice, Haziza successfully converted a penalty and Wildschut added another goal just before the final whistle. Buzorgi scored for the visitors


Maccabi’s line-up: Josh Cohen, Raz Meir, Ofri Arad, Rami Gershon, Sun Menachem, Neta Lavi (C), Maor Levi, Yuval Ashkenazi, Tjaronn Chery, Dolev Haziza, Muhammad Awad.
 
Kick off
 
4’ Afula’s defense clears the ball straight to Lavi who shoots from 22 meters, but the goalkeeper denies it. 
 
20’ Arad passes by a defender and provides a great pass towards Awad who shoots with a single touch, but Ginzburg collects it. 
 
41' GOAL! Awad gets control of the ball inside the box, advances a few meters and shoots powerfully to the crossbar and into the net. 1:0 for Maccabi.

46’ Haziza shoots a curved ball from a free kick position, but Afula’s goalkeeper blocks it.

65’ Chery sends a long ball to Haziza inside the box. Haziza is tackled from behind but the referee doesn’t stop the match. The VAR intervenes and asks the match official to check the incident again and after watching the replay the referee indicates to the penalty spot.

74’ GOAL! Haziza cuts the defense with a brilliant pass to Awad who gently touches the ball and scores his second goal this evening. 3:0 for Maccabi
