“I am not satisfied with the draw"

Maccabi’s new manager, Fred Rutten, spoke in his post-match press conference after the match against Maccabi Petah Tikva. “It was a good match for us, we created many opportunities to score".

Fred Rutten, Maccabi’s new manager, spoke in the post-match press conference after the 1:1 draw against Maccabi Petah Tikva. Lidor Cohen (’36) opened the scoring and Rukavytsya (’41) equalized.

First, the manager spoke of the match: “We have players that can score goals. It was a good match for us; we created many opportunities to score. I am not satisfied with the draw, but the approach and match play was good".

Rutten spoke about his involvement in the match and said: “I have only been at the club for one day and so its impossible for me to have been involved in the preparation for this match. We have two assistant managers that are doing great work, and I am supporting and in touch with the technical staff. In the next match, I will be on touchline and coaching the team".

Later, the new manager explained the changes he plans to implement: “First, I need to get to know the players better. I understand their abilities, but I need to see them in matches and in trainings, only then I can make the decisions. It’s still early to know what the team needs. The recent matches were good. The group has ability and talent and all of us need to work hard in order to reach our potential".

To finish, Rutten said: “I have big expectations for the team. I hope that I can help bring out the expectations that the club has. Today, the luck didn’t go our way to score and take all three points".
