Maccabi Haifa took on Bnei Sakhnin in Matchday 32 of the Israeli Premier League. The Greens look to grab three points and finish the season with positive performances from Fred Rutten’s squad.
The Greens took control of the match early. In the 17th minute, Ofir Mizrahi passed to Sallallich who then made a cross into the box. The ball almost got to Roi Kehat’s head, but the home side was able to clear the ball. In the 21st minute, Sallallich sent in another quality cross that found Rukavytsya, but the Australian was unable to get his touch on goal and the ball was sent out for a corner. In the similar fashion only minutes later, Rukavytsya took a cross from Sallallich and passed to Mizrahi. Sakhnin’s defense was again able to clear the danger. In the 37th minute, Bnei Sakhnin received a red card. Two minutes later, Rukavytsya tried to capitalize on the man-advantage, but goalkeeper, Kanadil, was able to make the save.
Less than ten minutes into the second half, Kostadinov found space for a shot following a cross from Rukvystya. The midfielder’s shot was centimeters from Kanadil’s post. In the 61st minute, the Greens made their first substitution when Mohammad Awad replaced Roi Kehat. In the 72nd minute, Caio replaced Rukavystya up top for the Greens. Three minutes later, Sallallich beat two defenders and carried the ball into the box. He had a shot from eight meters out, but Sagas was able to get in the way. The third and final substitution came in the 83rd minute when Raz Meir replaced Ofir Mizrahi. In the 87th minute, Kostadinov put the Greens up 1:0 with a header from Sallallich’s corner kick. But only minutes later, just before the whistle, Mugrabi equalized for the home side to put make the score 1:1 after receiving a penalty kick well into extra time.
