24th round in the Japanika League: Hapoel hosted the derby of Haifa this evening (Monday). About 20,000 green fans came to support the team in a so called “away match”. During the warm-up of the match Omri Glazer was injured and was replaced by Gil Ofek who managed to keep a clean sheet. The encounter was opened with a great opportunity for Raz Meir who missed the target from inside the penalty area. Maccabi attacked but couldn’t really risk Setkus's goal during the first half. In the second half, Maccabi had several unexploited chances and in the end the score remained goalless. Following the result tonight, Maccabi secured their place in the upper playoffs. On Saturday the team will host Bnei Sakhnin.
