Maccabi registered another important win this evening (Monday) at Turner. Shon Weismann, who entered as a sub in the second half, scored the winning goal in the 84’ minute after an impressive assist by Frei. Earlier in the first half, Erik Sabo, Beer Sheva’s midfielder, was shown a red card in 25’ minute after a brutal foul on Mandjeck. Five minutes later Reijnen was sent off as well. Following the victory, Maccabi is now in second place in the league.


 
31st round in the Japanika League: Maccabi was hosted by Hapoel Beer Sheva at the Toto Turner Stadium. In the first half the referee, Eli Hacmon, consulted twice with the VAR, who helped him make the decisions to send off Sabo and five minutes later Reijnen, leaving both teams with 10 players. A moment before the match ended goalless, Kerim Frei run down the line and found Shon Weissman in the middle of the box to set the final score in the 84’ minute. It is Maccabi’s second win this season at Turner, and they climb to the second place in the table. After a disappointing opening of the upper playoff, with three consecutive losses, Maccabi registers now two wins in a row. 1,600 fans followed the team in this away match.
