5th round of the 2019/20 “TA Stock Exchange” League: Maccabi hosted Maccabi Netanya and hoped to maintain their perfect home record. Maccabi arrived at the match with 7 points and after a loss at Bloomfield on Saturday.
On the other hand, Netanya arrived after a draw against Kfar Saba and so far they earned 6 points. Guy Haimov, Rami Gershon, Trent Sainsbury and Yarden Shua were absent this evening.
Maccabi’s line-up: Cohen, Mabouka, Arad, Habashi, Menachem, Haziza, Lavi (c), Ashkenazi, Chery, Wildschut, Rukavytsya.
Kick off
7’ Haziza provides a cross towards Rukavytsya but he just slightly misses the ball. Netanya’s defense clears it behind the line for a corner.
10’ A free kick by Chery from 22 meters is stopped by Danny Amos.
15’ Wildschut breaks through the left flank, he shoots a strong ball with his right foot, but Amos collects it.
17’ Haziza crosses the ball nicely from the right flank towards Wildschut that in a one touch shot hits the post. Rukavytsya is first to the rebound but he sends the ball above the target.
18’ Haziza has the ball once again, this time on the left flank, he passes it to Chery who shoots powerfully from 20 meters but the ball goes flying close to the post.
21’ Haziza delivers an incisive forward pass to Rukavytsya, the striker passes the keeper and shoots. The ball hits the post and rolls into the net! 1:0 for Maccabi!
28’ A lovely counter attack by Maccabi ends when Chery delivers a great ball towards Wildschut, his first shot is but blocked by the keeper and the second one is rejected by the defense.
29’ Haziza shoots from 25 meters, but he misses the target.
37’ Sun Menachem takes a free kick from the edge of the box. The ball goes just a little bit above the crossbar.
41’ Haziza sends Mabouka with a brilliant long ball, the latter penetrates into the box and shoots strongly, but somehow Amos manages to stop it
42’ Chery crosses a corner kick into the box and Menachem scores with a lovely header. 2:0 for Maccabi!
45’ Mabouka storms from the right wing and shoots a very sharp ball, Amos deflects the ball into another corner.

Second half
48’ Mabouka storms down the line and passes the ball to Haziza, who passes it to Chery who shoots from 25 meters straight to the keepers hands.
52’ Menachem sends an excellent long ball to Haziza, he turns around and shoots from the left side of the box, the ball is deflected straight to Ashkenazi, but from a close range he finds the wrong side of the net.
58’ In the end of a great team play, Chery delivers a sharp cross, but Rukavytsya was a little bit late.
60’ Another brilliant team move comes to an end when Chery provides a clever pass to Mabouka, but his strong cross is cleared by Netanya’s defense.
66’ Wildschut delivers a great cross that reaches Haziza, he shoots strongly to the bottom corner and scores! Amazing 3:0!
