The Greens looked to keep their momentum going against Hapoel Acre after a big win against Be’er Sheva while looking towards the next match against Hapoel Ra’anana at Sammy Ofer.
The match started as thousands of supporters filled the stadium in Acco. In the 12th minute, the Greens created their first opportunity from a corner kick taken by Vermouth which found Dekel Keinan’s head, forcing the Acre goalkeeper, Ram Strauss, into a save.
In the 35th minute, another chance fell to the Greens when Ben Harush’s cross came into Klaus, but it was just too high for the Greek international. Both sides entered the break looking to find the go-ahead goal.
The second half began with both teams searching for the opening goal. In the 52nd minute, Azubel took a shot from inside the box and beat Omri Glazer to put the home side up 1:0. The Greens made two changes after the goal when Azulay and Sallallich came onto the pitch for Kostadinov and Demari. Luzon made his last change in the 65th minute when Rukvytsya was brought on for Vermouth.
These changes were enough and Hapoel Acre was able to hold off Maccabi Haifa while scoring a second goal late in the match to secure the win. Maccabi Haifa will look to regain their winning form in their next match against Hapoel Ra’anana.
