Maccabi Haifa entered Matchday 30 against Maccabi Petah Tikva following a win last week against Hapoel Ashkelon.
The Greens began the match strong. In the 13th minute, Maccabi Haifa put themselves on the score sheet. Shlomi Azulay took a pass from Sallallich and was able to finish from five meters out. Throughout the half, the Greens kept pressuring the Petah Tikva defense and keeping them on the back foot. In the 32nd minute, Raz Meir broke forward on a counter attack and sent a pass to Roei Kehat, but the midfielder’s shot was over the goal. In the 39th minute, Rukavystya won a free kick at the edge of the Petah Tikva box, but Azulay’s shot was saved well by the home side goalkeeper, Zahi Gigi. During extra time at the end of the half, Shlomi Azulay hit the post from ten meters out after another accurate pass from Sallallich.
In the 52nd minute, Gal Alberman fouled a Petah Tikva player and received a yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Ofir Mizrachi replaced Shomi Azulay. Shortly after entering the match, Mizrahi received a yellow card after grabbing the shirt of a Petah Tikvah player. In the 81st minute, Roei Kehat received a ball from twenty meters out, but the shot was over the goal. In the 84th miunte, Gershon received a yellow card, and Maccabi made another change when Caio replaced Kostadinov. Maccabi was able to hold their lead and take all three points.
