The Israeli Super Cup: Maccabi Haifa, the Israeli champions, met the Israeli cup holders at Sammy Ofer stadium in front of 19,798 fans for the first title of the 2021/22 season. 
 
Maccabi’s line-up: Josh Cohen, Raz Meir, Bogdan Planic, Ori Dahan, Sun Menachem, Ali Mohamed, Mohammed Abu Fani, Tjaronn Chery (C), Omer Atzili, Dean David, Ben Sahar.
 
First Half
 
19’ Ben Sahar finds the net and the fans already start to celebrate in the stands, but the referee rules out the goal and calls for an offside. 
 
23’ Ben Sahar shoots from close range, the ball hits the goalkeeper and is deflected to the crossbar before being cleared by Tel Aviv’s defense. 
 
35’ Atzili receives the ball inside the box, passes by the goalkeeper and crosses the ball towards Sahar who scores from close range, but once again the referee rules out the goal and indicates that Atzili was offside. 
 
39’ Atzili takes a free kick from a hard angle and the ball goes slightly above the crossbar. 
 
41’ Atzili receives the ball inside the box, advances a few meters and shoots to the far corner, but the ball only just misses the frame. 
 
Second Half 
 
51’ GOAL. David crosses the ball into the box, Atzili heads it, the goalkeeper blocks the header, but Sahar is first to the rebound and scores! 1:0 for Maccabi.
